The house near the hillfort was built to accommodate a big family; the grandparents reside on the second level, while the kids and grandkids are housed in the attic. A huge covered patio extends the common area of the house and is visible from the living/dining room’s large windows that face the south and west. The 162 m2 massive structure, which serves as the homestead’s focal point and visually “organizes” the dispersed farmers surrounding it, turns heads from a distance. The prefabricated wooden panels were quickly assembled to create the garden cottage. The roof, which can be seen from the hill, is covered for practical reasons with a sheet metal profile evocative of the unplaned facade planks, which were chosen because they fit with the country aesthetic.
